Miniature & Toy Australian Shepherds
Note regarding Show/Breed Prospects: I consider every pup that I place as a Show/Breed Prospect an extension of my own breeding program. I am, therefore, very particular which puppies continue the breed, and the homes that they are placed in. My primary goal is to improve the breed and in the process produce some outstanding toy/mini aussies... If you have these same goals, please feel free to contact me regarding a Show/Breed Prospect.

Why choose a puppy from Texas Star?
Puppies are a wonderful gift...from sweet puppy breath and puppy kisses, to those little surprises they leave on the living room carpet when they didn't quite make it outside to potty. We treasure all of these moments (well, most of them:) here at Texas Star. Our puppies are extensively socialized from birth, to give them the very best opportunity to become well-adjusted adults. Even as very young pups, we use a technique of early neurological stimulation which was developed and researched by the US military in their "Super Dog" program, and shown to provide a lifelong advantage, including more tolerance to stress and greater resistance to disease, among other things. We have taken great care to research the genetic history of our breeding dogs, and we OFA and CERF test EVERY potential addition to our breeding program before breeding. Correct structure and good temperament are essential. We feed quality food and every dog gets the nutritional supplement NuVet Plus. We spare no expense to make sure you get a very healthy, very smart, and well-adjusted puppy. Don't be tempted to sacrifice quality for something which costs a little less up-front. Raising a litter of puppies with the care and attention they need requires many resources, including time and money. We don't think our puppies are expensive...we think they are priceless!

The Waiting List:
I request a refundable $200 deposit to be placed on the waiting list for future litters. All of our puppies are evaluated/puppy puzzled @ 8 weeks old for temperament and structure--we will not know until that time which puppies will be placed in approved show/breed homes or placed as pets on spay/neuter contract--I will not make any placement decisions until that time. Many times, it is not possible for anyone but a breeder or judge to determine why a particular pup is evaluated as a pet...there are many factors that go into making that decision. Only the most exceptional puppies continue in the breeding program and some very nice pups will be placed in pet homes. Show/Breed Quality pups will be placed first in available & approved show homes, then those on the waiting list will choose from the remaining available puppies. If you are interested in a little Texas Star, please contact me and I can email the Deposit Agreement and Prospective Puppy Home Questionnaire to you.
